SpeakerChef William "Reggie" Sloan, a culinary maestro with roots in Atlanta, proudly graduated from Tri-Cities High School in East Point, GA, in the Class of 1999. His culinary journey began at the age of nine when he discovered his passion in the kitchen while assisting his blind grandmother during elaborate holiday feasts.
In 2001, Chef Sloan earned his Associates Degree in Culinary Arts from the Art Institute of Atlanta, setting the stage for an international culinary adventure. Driven by a thirst for knowledge, he spent a rewarding year and a half as a Commis Chef at the prestigious London Marriott Regents Park Hotel in London.
Known as the "People's Chef" in his community, Chef Sloan fearlessly tackles culinary challenges, generously nourishing the neighborhood. His professional journey in Atlanta includes roles at various hotels and restaurants, culminating in the entrepreneurial feat of opening his establishment, Reggie's Fish Fry and Bar B Que. Presently, he operates his personal catering service, Sloan Gourmet LLC.
Beyond his culinary prowess, Chef Sloan dedicates his expertise to community service. With over 13 years of service, he contributes significantly as the District Chef for Fulton County Schools. Additionally, Chef Sloan is an active member of the Georgia Department of Education School Nutrition Division Culinary Advisory Committee, playing a pivotal role in enhancing menu selection and kitchen techniques across the State of Georgia.
